Dye, Sharpe lead Raiderettes past Fayetteville

The Moore County High School Raiderettes opened Region 5-District 9A play Friday night, rolling to a 63-40 road win at Fayetteville to improve to 9-5 on the season.

MCHS set the tone early and never looked back, jumping out to a 24-9 lead after the first quarter and carrying a 37-22 advantage into halftime. The Raiderettes maintained control throughout the second half, extending the margin to 49-32 entering the fourth quarter before closing out the decisive win.

Ally Sharpe made a strong return from an ankle injury, scoring 15 points with three 3-pointers. She poured in 10 points in the opening quarter, knocking down two triples to help fuel the fast start, and finished a perfect 2-for-2 at the free-throw line.

Emma Dye led all Raiderettes with a team-high 19 points, continuing her consistent offensive production and adding a 3-pointer.

Bella Tucker chipped in eight points, while Abbie Bateman scored six. Emmeree Greenway added five points, including a 3-pointer, and Ellie Carter finished with four. Harley Hart, Paisley Kelly, and Brenley Ticker each scored two points.

As a team, MCHS was efficient at the line, converting 8 of 10 free throws for 80% shooting.

Fayetteville was led by TeAsia Ewing, who poured in a game-high 21 points, highlighted by six 3-pointers, but the Tigers were unable to keep pace with the Raiderettes’ balanced attack.

The Raiderettes return to action Tuesday, traveling to Murfreesboro Central for a 6 p.m. tipoff.
