Moore County Observer owner Duane Cross is a seasoned journalist with over 35 years of experience in traditional and digital media. His career began with a decade in newspaper journalism, after which he transitioned to digital media, spending 15 years with Turner Broadcasting. In 2016, he joined Cancer Tutor as the executive director for digital, contributing extensively to cancer treatment and patient advocacy topics.

Cross has also written for various publications, including MiLB.com and CONQUER magazine, showcasing his versatility across different subjects and platforms.

On Nov. 6, 2024, Cross launched the Moore County Observer, a digital news outlet that covers Moore County, Tenn. The Observer focuses on local government, education, and Moore County High School sports. The publication aims to provide timely and relevant news to the residents of Moore County.

As publisher and editor of the Observer, Cross continues to deliver fact-based journalism, leveraging his extensive experience to inform and engage the community.
