School Board OK's boilerplate agenda items

On Monday, the Moore County Board of Education was a model of efficiency, wrapping up its November meeting in less than 13 minutes.
After approving the previous meeting’s minutes and adopting the agenda, Director of Schools Chad Moorehead, Chairperson Tanya Vann, Chair Pro-Tem Ed Cashion, and outgoing District 2 board member Greg Thompson whipped through the items:
- Approved the October review of Section 3 of the policy manual
- Approved a Tennessee School Boards Association (TSBA) recommended change to 4.100-4.408, 1.8012 (Extended School Day/Year Program)
- Approved the Emergency Operations Plans, which are not public due to their sensitive safety nature, and have been signed off on by the Emergency Management Agency, Sheriff’s Department, and Fire Department
- Approved the Local Education Agency (LEA) Compliance Report
- Approved the MCHS Raiderettes’ basketball trip to Gatlinburg for a tournament on Dec. 19-21
Moorehead’s report to the Board included:
MCHS Plumbing Issues
Unable to locate a blockage affecting auxiliary gymnasium locker rooms; the expectation is to have this addressed in time for the Region basketball tournament in February.
Ballistic Window Film Update
The window film is bubbling, and after inspecting the windows, representatives of the installation company were embarrassed by the quality of the work. Therefore, new film is expected to be installed.
