Bonnaroo

Mark your calendars: Bonnaroo will return to The Farm June 11–14, 2026.

Following the heartbreaking rainout of the 2025 festival, organizers have confirmed new dates and outlined significant changes aimed at preventing another weather-related shutdown.

Among the key updates for Bonnaroo 2026:

  • Flood-prone campsites will be closed, reducing overall capacity but creating more space and improved safety for attendees.
  • Camping and Outeroo programming will begin on Wednesday, offering an extra day of activities.
  • A Thursday night welcome party will kick off the main stage action.
  • The Where in the Woods stage is moving to Centeroo, replacing the Infinity Stage and bringing late-night DJ sets to the festival core.
  • Multi-million-dollar improvements to infrastructure will continue, with a focus on access roads, drainage, and reseeding of saturated areas.

“All things considered, our traditional June time frame remains the most optimal time of year for Bonnaroo,” organizers stated, citing expert analysis that confirmed 2025’s extreme rainfall was highly unusual.

What Went Wrong in 2025

The four-day 2025 Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, set for June 12–15, was cut short after torrential rain hit the Manchester venue on Friday the 13th, forcing organizers to cancel the remainder of the event.

Thursday night’s set from Australian DJ Dom Dolla ended up being the only major performance of the weekend. On Friday morning, a National Weather Service forecast warned of “significant and steady precipitation,” prompting a difficult but necessary decision: shut it down.

Middle Tennessee had already logged over 34 inches of rain by mid-June – nearly eight inches above normal – leaving The Farm waterlogged before the first drop fell that weekend. By Friday afternoon, access roads had turned to mud, and fields were impassable.

“We are beyond gutted, but we must make the safest decision and cancel the remainder of Bonnaroo,” read a message pushed to the festival app.

Full Refunds Guaranteed

Initially, Bonnaroo’s Instagram post stated that one-day pass holders for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday would receive full refunds. In contrast, four-day ticket holders would only get 75% back, since Thursday’s shows had gone off as scheduled.

After backlash from disappointed fans and pressure on social media, organizers reversed course. All ticket holders will now receive a full refund, including parking fees.

Back on Track in 2026

The past few years have brought challenges for the festival organizers, who canceled the 2020 event due to the pandemic and called off 2021 after Hurricane Ida; however, Bonnaroo’s team remains committed to creating a safe and unforgettable experience.

“We’ve been taking your feedback to heart,” they wrote in their 2026 announcement, “and now it’s time to share what’s next.”

For Bonnaroovians who left The Farm early and muddy in 2025, hope is on the horizon. With new infrastructure, reimagined spaces, and a commitment to learning from the past, Bonnaroo 2026 promises a fresh start – and a party worth waiting for.
