Frontier Days calls on donors, sponsors, vendors

Organizers accepting vendor applications by June 9, auction donations by June 10 for the annual Lynchburg festival

Before the fireworks go up, before the last song fades, and before the Square settles back down, Frontier Days will give folks one more reason to gather around the gazebo.

The live auction returns Saturday, June 27, during Lynchburg’s 64th annual Frontier Days celebration, bringing homemade goods, handmade items, locally produced products, made-in-Tennessee finds, and other items worth bidding on to the Lynchburg Public Square.

Local auctioneer Jacob Massey will lead the bidding, calling out donations and business names as the crowd gathers near the gazebo. To the Chamber, the auction is not just another name on the schedule. It helps fund the work that supports locally owned, independent small businesses in historic Lynchburg and Moore County.

That is where Frontier Days becomes more than a weekend schedule. Local businesses put something on the table. Neighbors bid it up. The money circles back into the community.

A Lynchburg tradition

Frontier Days runs from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 26, and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 27, on the Lynchburg Square and at Wiseman Park.

The festival began more than 60 years ago and is traditionally held the weekend before the Fourth of July. Over the years, it has grown from a local celebration into a small-town festival that draws visitors from surrounding counties and across Tennessee.

This year’s lineup includes live entertainment, the SCA Steak Cookoff, kids' rides, a ladies’ cast iron skillet toss, and the live auction. The weekend also brings a kids' pedal tractor pull, Power Wheels demolition derby, fireworks, hot air balloon rides, an appearance by choreographer and dancer Eian Rivera of Texas, and music by country music singer Cody Cozz.

Chamber volunteers are again building the weekend around families, local businesses, and the kind of activities that keep people on the Square.

Auction donations due June 10

Organizers are accepting auction donations and contributions by Wednesday, June 10.

Businesses, makers, and individuals may donate homemade, handmade, locally produced, made-in-Tennessee, or other rare items. Donors will receive recognition during the live auction, with Fruehauf announcing the business name and donation as bidding moves along.

Sponsors help carry the weekend

Organizers are also seeking sponsors for the 2026 festival.

Sponsorships range from $350 to more than $5,000, with levels including Friends of Lynchburg, Row Crop, Trail Ride, Cattle Roundup, and New Frontiers sponsors. Depending on the level, sponsors may receive event announcements, signage, website recognition, food truck certificates, and ride armbands.

Sponsors may also choose specific events to support, including fireworks, kids' pedal tractor pull, kids' rides and activities, entertainment, Eian Rivera, cultural arts, the SCA Steak Cookoff, hot-air balloon tethered rides, and the Power Wheels demolition derby.

Vendors can apply

Vendor applications are also available for Frontier Days.

Craft vendor spaces begin at $75. Food vendor spaces begin at $150. Limited electricity is available for an additional fee. Applications and fees are requested by Tuesday, June 9.

Set-up begins at 5 p.m. Friday, with activities starting at 6 p.m. The event is rain or shine. Vendors are responsible for their own setup, cleanup, tables, chairs, tents, canopies, and approved extension cords. Vehicles must be moved off the Square after setup, and food vendors must provide proof of a fire extinguisher.

Organizers prohibit the sale or use of drugs, alcohol, firearms, and fireworks on the Square or in the park area.

Built by the community

Frontier Days does not happen by accident.

It takes donated auction items. It takes sponsors. It takes vendors willing to set up, cook, sell, serve, and stay late. It takes volunteers handling the details most people never see.

And then, for two days in late June, it turns into what Lynchburg knows best – a crowded Square, kids tugging at sleeves, music in the air, smoke from the grills, neighbors stopping mid-step to talk, and a town showing up for its own.

By Saturday night, when the bidding is done and the fireworks start, Lynchburg will do what it has always done best – gather on the Square and make a weekend of it.
