Lunch at Senior Center

Three days a week, the Moore County Senior Center serves up more than just a hot meal – it offers connection, community, and comfort for residents aged 60 and older. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 11 a.m., seniors are invited to enjoy a nutritious lunch in the welcoming atmosphere of the Senior Center, located at 87 High Street in Lynchburg.

The program, led by Director Loraine Stoklosa and Nutrition Site Manager Tammy George, encourages a small $1.50 donation to help offset costs, but no one is turned away. Meals must be eaten onsite, fostering meaningful social interaction – and often great conversations. The rotating monthly menu includes hearty Southern favorites like meatloaf, BBQ, pinto beans, and hamburger steak with gravy.

Participants are asked to call (931) 759-7317 at least two days in advance to reserve their meal. For those unable to attend in person, information about home-delivered meals is available through the Area Agency on Aging and Disability at (866) 836-6678.

Monthly menus and updates can be found on the Senior Center’s Facebook page. With food, fellowship, and a full calendar of activities, the Moore County Senior Center is more than a meal – it’s a place to belong.
