The moments that matter most are the ones you choose to show up for

Be Present or Be Sorry

One day, the house will be quieter. The backpacks won’t be by the door. The dance recitals will end. The games, the chaos, the hustle and bustle will slowly turn into stories instead of moments. Life doesn’t just move fast – it disappears while you’re busy!

One day, you look up and realize the season you were living in ... is gone. I’ve built businesses. Closed deals. Pushed hard to grow things that matter – I believe in that grind. Providing, building, leading - that’s part of my calling.

However, I’ve learned a hard lesson along the way. Success feels empty if you weren’t there for the people you were doing it for.

Your kids don’t remember the deal you closed. They remember if you showed up. Your family doesn’t need perfection. They need presence. Your team at work doesn’t just need leadership from a distance. They need to know you see them, know that they matter!

And your faith? It deepens when you slow down long enough to notice where God is moving in the middle of your everyday life.

Jesus had the most important mission in human history ... and yet He constantly stopped. He stopped for people. He stopped for conversations. He stopped for moments. Presence wasn’t getting in the way of His purpose. It was the purpose.

Here’s the truth most high performers need to hear: Being present takes grit. It’s easier to stay busy. Easier to keep chasing the next win. Easier to say, “next time,” but the strongest leaders I know fight for something bigger than success.

They fight to be present at home. Present with their team. Present in church. Present with God. Because deep down we all know this: Deals will come and go. Opportunities will come and go. But the people you love ... and the moments God gives you with them? Those are one-time offers.

So, this week, let’s fight for presence: Hug your people. Look them in the eye. Put the phone down. Be present. Because one day you’ll either be grateful you were there ... or wishing you had been.
