Quitters Day Is Coming – Here’s How to Refuse It
#MindsetMonday • 9:30 a.m. Dec. 29, 2025
Every January feels the same on the surface. New goals. New journals. New gym memberships. New promises.
But underneath all that fresh paint sits the same old reality: Most people quit long before their breakthrough, and there’s an actual day for it: “Quitters Day” – the day the masses statistically abandon their goals and slide right back into comfortable mediocrity.
But here’s the truth you and I already know: The life you want will not reveal itself from comfort. It answers only to your commitment.
And here’s the rub: The hardest part is not January – it’s February. January is motivation. February is discipline. January is fireworks. February is follow-through. January is the dream. February is the grind.
And the difference between the people who break the cycle and change their lives and the people who repeat their lives is simple: Cycle-breakers refuse to give up on the promises they made to themselves at the start of the year.
Let that land for a second …
Here’s my paradigm shift for us in 2026: This year, don’t just set goals – make covenants. Not casual wishes. Not soft intentions. Not “I hope this is the year I finally …”
COVENANTS! Personal, spiritual, internal vows that you honor even when you’re tired, discouraged, irritated, busy, or tempted to slip back into an old version of yourself.
Because here’s the faith-truth hidden inside every growth season: God honors commitment. God multiplies discipline. God strengthens the willing. When you move with intention, Heaven moves with you!
The tough decisions are the gatekeepers to the life you want. You already know which habits need to go. You already know the conversations you've avoided. You already know the boundaries you need to set. You already know the work that requires more grit, more intentionality, more follow-through.
Stop negotiating with the things that are trying to keep you average. Let this be the year you choose the harder right over the easier wrong. The year you become unshakeable in the face of discomfort. The year you build the muscles – mental, spiritual, emotional – that won’t wither by February.
2026 is not a year for dabblers. It’s a year for doers! A year for people who decide. A year for people who stay. A year for people who finish.
You want a different life? Good. Prove it to yourself with daily decisions that outlast the hype.
And when February shows up, we’ll revisit this post – not to call you out, but to call you higher.
So, this week: honor the covenants. Move boldly into 2026, the year you grow directly toward the person God created you to be!
