Jeff Arnett is bringing Company Distilling to Lynchburg.
Company Distilling has agreed to purchase American Craft Distillers of Lynchburg.
A former Jack Daniel Master Distiller, Arnett is a founder and master distiller at Company (formerly H Clark Distillery), based in Thompson’s Station.
Arnett began his tenure with Brown-Forman as a quality control engineer at Jack Daniel Distillery. When Jimmy Bedford stepped down as Master Distiller in 2008, Arnett became the seventh MD in a line of famed whiskey makers.
Under Arnett’s leadership, Jack Daniel’s expanded its brand, adding Tennessee Honey, Tennessee Fire, Tennessee Tasters, Jack Daniels Sinatra Select, Jack Daniel’s Rye, and Jack Daniels No. 27 Gold.
Arnett stepped down in 2020 to pursue his brand of whiskey. “I was in my 50s, and I wasn’t getting any younger, and I trusted myself to do something independently,” Arnett told Bourbon & Baner in 2022.
BARRELHOUSE 107 first reported the Company news.
