Concerned Citizens group seeks public input
June 23 meeting will focus on county finances, budget planning, growth, transparency, and taxpayer impact

Moore County Concerned Citizens invites all residents to attend our next public meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at the American Legion Building.
During this meeting, we will share the results of our ongoing review and analysis of county finances, spending trends, budget planning, and other issues that directly affect Moore County taxpayers. Most importantly, we welcome and value public participation, questions, comments, and discussion.
For those unfamiliar with our group, a small number of Moore County residents came together in August 2025 with a shared goal: to promote citizen engagement, encourage transparency, and make a positive, lasting impact on our community. Following a successful public forum earlier this year, we believe it is important to continue providing opportunities for residents to learn about local issues and become involved in the future of Moore County.
Current topics of interest include:
• Financial sustainability and taxpayer impact
• Government oversight and transparency
• School enrollment and budget planning
• Economic development and growth
• Land use and zoning decisions
• Infrastructure and public services
• Citizen engagement and public trust
The recently approved county budget includes a 2-cent property tax increase, raising important questions about the long-term financial sustainability of county operations and the need to explore cost savings and additional revenue opportunities beyond recurring tax increases.
Our purpose is not to criticize local government, but to encourage informed citizen involvement and constructive dialogue. We believe that transparency, accountability, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer resources benefit everyone. Strong communities are built when residents are informed, engaged, and actively involved in the decisions that affect their daily lives.
Whether your interest is county finances, schools, infrastructure, economic development, planning and zoning, or simply staying informed about local issues, we encourage you to attend. The future of Moore County depends on citizens who are willing to ask questions, share ideas, stay informed, and work together for the good of our community.
