Balanced attack carries Raiderettes to 10th W

The Moore County High School Raiderettes relied on depth and discipline Tuesday night.
MCHS improved to 10-5 on the season with a 43-36 victory over Murfreesboro Central Magnet on Jan. 13, using balanced scoring and a strong defensive effort to control the game from the opening tip.

The Raiderettes built an early cushion, jumping out to a 14-7 lead after the first quarter and stretching that advantage to 26-11 by halftime. MCHS continued to dictate the pace in the third quarter and carried a 35-22 lead into the final period.
Despite not having a player reach double figures and failing to connect on a 3-point attempt, Moore County made its points count by spreading the offense and capitalizing at the free-throw line, finishing 9-of-12 from the stripe.
Bella Tucker led the way with eight points, including a perfect 4-for-4 performance at the free-throw line.
Ellie Carter, Emma Dye, and Ally Sharpe each added seven points, while Emmeree Greenway chipped in six. Harley Hart scored four points, and Abbie Bateman rounded out the scoring with two.
Murfreesboro Central Magnet made a push in the fourth quarter, but the Raiderettes’ early work proved decisive as MCHS closed out the win.
Madison Stanley led the Lady Tigers with a game-high 16 points.
Up next, Moore County returns home to host Region 5–District 9A opponent Richland at 6 p.m. Friday.
