Dye’s 18 paces Raiderettes past Community

The MCHS Raiderettes continued their upward momentum Tuesday night, improving to 8-4 with a 45-31 win over Community.

Moore County weathered a slow start, trailing 9-6 after the first quarter, before finding its rhythm in the second. The Raiderettes outscored Community 14-8 in the period to take a 20-17 lead into halftime, then took firm control after the break. MCHS extended the advantage to 34-22 by the end of the third quarter and never looked back.

Emma Dye led all scorers with 18 points, knocking down four 3-pointers to spark the Raiderettes’ offense. Bella Tucker added 9 points, including a trey, while Alexus Hornaday finished with 5 points and a 3-pointer.

Emmeree Greenway also scored 5, with Ellie Carter and Harley Hart contributing 3 points each. Hart’s total included a 3-pointer, and Abbie Bateman rounded out the scoring with 2 points.

At the free-throw line, Moore County was efficient, converting 6 of 10 attempts.

Anna Haskins led Community with 9 points.

The Raiderettes will be back on the road Friday, Jan. 9, traveling to Fayetteville for a 6 p.m. tip.
