MCMS Raiderettes' run ends at South Lawrence

The MCMS Raiderettes saw a strong season come to an end Monday night with a 55-37 loss at South Lawrence in the Regional semifinals.
Moore County stayed within striking distance through the first half, trailing just 10-9 after the first quarter and 25-20 at halftime.
But South Lawrence seized control coming out of the locker room, outscoring the Raiderettes 21-4 in the third quarter to break the game open. South Lawrence carried a 46-24 lead into the final period and never looked back.
Sadie Ivey led MCMS with 12 points. Haven Hornaday finished with seven points, including a 3-pointer, while Maddie Goodwin added six points and a 3-pointer of her own.
Addison Brandon scored five points, Madison Hatfield had four, and Emmy Thomas added three.
The Raiderettes went 9-for-18 from the free-throw line.
Maggie Niedergeses paced South Lawrence with a game-high 18 points, knocking down four 3-pointers.
Despite the loss, MCMS closes the year with an 18-2 record, capping a standout season for the Raiderettes.
