Moore County splits pair with Culleoka
Katy Fletcher poured in a game-high 16 points, and Emma Sazonov added 13 as the Raiderettes trounced home-standing Culleoka, 75-29, on Tuesday.
Moore County jumped out to an 18-4 lead after one quarter. The Raiderettes' advantage ballooned to 48-15 at the half. MCHS led 67-25 entering the final stanza.
Eleven players scratched the scorebook for Moore County, including Emma Dye (8), Anna Harder (7), Bella Tucker (7), Ellie Graham (6), Ally Sharpe (6), Makenzie Goodwin (4), Audrey Harder (4), Madison Dingler (2), and Alexus Hornaday (2).
Editor's Note: This story has been updated to show Emma Sazonov had 13 points and Ally Sharpe 6. Four points were inadvertently given to Sharpe on the scorebook that should have been credited to Sazonov.
Culleoka 63, Raiders 57
Moore County dropped a hard-fought decision in the nightcap, losing 63-57 despite holding a 45-43 advantage entering the fourth quarter.
Peyton Martin paced the Raiders with 19 points. Colton Morey, whose free throws gave MCHS that two-point lead after three quarters, finished with 16.
Culleoka led 20-12 after the opening quarter, but the Raiders cut the deficit to 30-28 at the break.
Brantley Hill (6), Gavin Wise (6), Tristen Gray (4), Jay Sparkman (4), and Tucker Smith (2) rounded out the scoring for Moore County.
MCHS plays host to Forrest at 6 p.m. Friday in the home opener.
