Raiderettes again reign as district champs

The Moore County High School girls' tennis team continued its reign of dominance on the court, defeating Community, 4-1, on Wednesday to capture the District 11A team championship for the fourth consecutive year.

The Raiderettes' depth and consistency were on full display during the match, with standout performances from several players. Sisters Anna and Audrey Harder both blanked their opponents with identical 8-0 victories. Maddie Sparkman also notched a shutout win, finishing 8-0.

Aubree Hernandez battled through a close match to win 8-6, while Amiee Gleghorn fell in a hard-fought match, 5-8.

With the district title in hand, the Raiderettes will advance to the Region 6A championship, where they will face the District 12A champion on Thursday, May 8. The match is set to take place at Lakewood Country Club in Tullahoma.

• In the team competition, the Region champion advances to a Sectional, then the four-team State tournament.

• In the individual competition (doubles and singles), the Region winners go to State. There will be eight doubles teams and eight singles competing.
