Raiderettes' second-half surge thwarts Huntland

The Moore County Raiderettes used a dominant second half to pull away from Huntland for a 49-38 victory Tuesday, Feb. 10, improving to 15-9 overall and 4-4 in District 9A.
Ally Sharpe set the tone early, scoring seven first-quarter points, including a 3-pointer, while Emma Dye added five with a trey to help Moore County build a 15-12 lead after one period.

Huntland kept the pressure on and trimmed the deficit to 21-19 by halftime.
The Raiderettes seized control in the third quarter, holding Huntland to a single field goal while spreading the scoring across the lineup. Bella Tucker and Abbie Bateman scored four points each, Ellie Carter added three, and Paisley Kelly chipped in two as Moore County stretched the margin to 34-21 entering the final frame.
Sharpe closed the door in the fourth, pouring in seven more points – including another 3-pointer – to finish with a game-high 17 points. She knocked down three shots from beyond the arc and went 2-for-2 at the free-throw line.
Dye and Bateman each added nine points with a 3-pointer apiece. Tucker finished with four points, while Addison Brandon, Carter, and Kelly scored three each. Emmeree Greenway added one point.
Moore County went 6-for-17 from the free-throw line.
Riley Maxwell posted 12 points – four buckets and 4-for-4 from the stripe – to lead Huntland.
The Raiderettes will wrap up the regular season Friday at Franklin County, with tipoff set for 6 p.m.
