Raiderettes softball, Moore County wrestling set youth camps

Softball will offer four Monday sessions in August, followed by a two-day Moore County wrestling camp in September

Young athletes will have two opportunities to sharpen their skills through upcoming Moore County softball and wrestling camps.

The Raiderettes Youth Softball Camp will meet at the Moore County softball field on four Mondays in August. The camp is open to students entering first through sixth grades.

Sessions are scheduled for Aug. 10, 17, 24, and 31. Students entering first through third grades will practice from 4:30 to 6 p.m., followed by students entering fourth through sixth grades from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Campers will work on throwing and catching, fielding fundamentals, hitting mechanics, and base running. The camp will also emphasize teamwork and sportsmanship through games and competitions.

The $50 registration fee covers all four Monday sessions. Registration is available through the QR code on the embedded camp flyer.

The Moore County wrestling program will hold a two-day camp Sept. 18-19 in the Moore County High School gym.

The camp is open to boys and girls ages 5 and older. Beginners and experienced wrestlers are welcome.

Friday’s session will run from 2 to 5 p.m., followed by Saturday’s session from 8 to 11 a.m.

Coaches will work with participants on wrestling fundamentals, technique, discipline, strength, confidence, and decision-making on the mat.
