Raiderettes walk-off vs. Marion Co.

Kallie Ross picked up the win and game-winning hit on Friday night as Moore County nipped Marion County, 10-9, in 10 innings.

Marion County took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, and MCHS answered with a pair of runs. The Raiderettes added two more in the second before Marion County scored a run in the third and fourth frames to knot the game at 4-all.

The seesaw battle continued as the Raiderettes took a short-lived 6-4 lead in the bottom of the sixth. Marion County tied the game with two runs in the top of the seventh.

Both teams scored twice in the ninth inning – including a solo home run by MCHS's Bailey Dunn – to set the stage in the 10th, when Marion County scored once to forge ahead, 9-8.

Anna Deaton began the home-half of the 10th on second base, and advanced to third on a passed ball. Savannah Rose grounded out to second to plate Deaton with the tying run.

With two out, Anna-Leigh Ross singled and scored on Kallie Ross's base hit to right field for the walk-off 10-9 victory.

Whitney Fanning was 3-for-6, including a double, with two runs scored and an RBI. Dunn was 3-for-4 with one run scored and two RBIs. Jenny Sanders was 3-for-5 with an RBI and a stolen base.

Kallie Ross tossed 155 pitches in 10 innings, allowing nine hits and three walks. She struck out seven.
