Raiders' season ends with Eagleville loss

Moore County’s season came to an end Saturday in the Region tournament, as Eagleville jumped out early and never let the Raiders settle in, rolling to a 75-32 win.

Eagleville set the tone from the opening tip, racing to an 18-5 first-quarter lead and pushing the margin to 38-15 by halftime.

The Eagles kept the pressure on coming out of the break, stretching the advantage to 62-23 entering the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach.

Anderson Sharpe paced Moore County with 11 points, knocking down three 3-pointers. Colton Morey added eight points and a 3-pointer, while Avery Rogers finished with five points, including a basket from deep. Cody Burton, Braylynn Hill, Tucker Smith and Deacon Liles scored two points apiece.

For Eagleville, James Bēga led the way with a game-high 16 points. Camden Cole and Gabe Cole chipped in 12 each as the Eagles’ balanced attack kept Moore County on its heels.

Moore County’s scoring got started with Morey, who accounted for all five of the Raiders’ first-quarter points with a field goal and a 3-pointer.

Sharpe tried to spark a response in the second quarter, drilling two 3s as part of a six-point period, and he added five more in the third, including another triple.

In the fourth, Rogers provided the highlight for the Raiders’ offense with a basket and a 3-pointer.

Moore County struggled at the line, finishing 3-for-7 on free throws. Morey was 3 of 6 from the stripe.

The loss closes the book on the Raiders’ season at 6-21.
