Winchester will host anglers from across the state next month as the Tennessee BASS Nation Adult State Tournament returns to Tims Ford Lake on March 21-22.

A mandatory banquet and meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. March 20 at Winchester City Park, where all pairings for the draw-format tournament will be announced. The event will feature 100 percent payback of all entry fees, along with daily big-fish awards in each division.

• Registration Form

Registration closes at 6 p.m. March 1. Entry fees are $100 per person and include eligibility for big bass. Fees must be paid by March 15, and organizers advise anglers not to mail checks after March 10. All participants must hold current Bassmaster and TBN memberships prior to midnight on Feb. 20.

Competition rules set a five-fish daily limit for boaters and a three-fish limit for co-anglers, with culling required upon catching an additional fish. Minimum size limits are 15 inches for largemouth bass, 18 inches for smallmouth bass, and 12 inches for spotted bass. Anglers must be off tournament waters no later than 3 p.m. March 20, and standard TWRA regulations and TBN rules apply.

The tournament permits the use of umbrella rigs, landing nets, and forward-facing sonar, though anglers may not receive non-public fishing information or hire guides after Feb. 20. State boating safety certification is required for boaters born after Jan. 1, 1989, and life jackets must be worn anytime the main motor is in gear.

Anglers are not required to belong to a club; those without an affiliation will be placed on the TAL roster. Complete rules and additional information are available on the Tennessee BASS Nation website.
