Déjà vu: Raiders stumble in fourth on Senior Night

Moore County’s Senior Night ended in heartbreak Friday, Feb. 6, as Cornersville rallied in the fourth quarter to edge the Raiders 60-57 in a District 9A battle.
The loss drops Moore County to 5-18 overall and 3-4 in district play, mirroring the earlier Raiderettes game in which MCHS also carried a lead into the final period but couldn’t hold off a late Cornersville surge.

Despite trailing 29-19 late in the first half, the Raiders mounted a strong comeback to tie the game at 35-35 by halftime. Moore County kept the momentum in the third quarter, building a 49-44 advantage heading into the final stanza.
Cornersville answered behind Konnor Callahan, who scored eight of the Bulldogs’ 16 fourth-quarter points, including a pair of 3-pointers that proved decisive.
Colton Morey paced the Raiders with a steady scoring performance throughout the night. He scored seven points in the first quarter, added six in the second, seven more in the third, and six in the fourth to finish with 26 points and three 3-pointers.
Cooper Dickey contributed 13 points with two treys, and Anderson Sharpe added 10, including a third-quarter 3-pointer.
Deacon Liles scored five points, and Tristyn Gray chipped in three.
Moore County went 10-for-19 from the free-throw line.
Ayden Campbell led Cornersville with 19 points, while Canaan Bennett added 17.
Friday marked the final regular-season home game for seniors Dickey, Gray, and Gavin Wise.
The Raiders return to action Tuesday with a district road trip to Huntland.
