Lincoln Co. hands Raiderettes first L

The MCHS Raiderettes suffered their first setback of the season Friday night, falling 46-30 to Lincoln County.
For the first time this season, Moore County (5-1) was held to single-digit scoring in all four quarters, as Lincoln County’s defense set the tone early and never fully relented.
The teams traded momentum in the opening half. Lincoln County edged ahead 10-9 after the first quarter, but the Raiderettes answered in the second, rallying to knot the game at 17-17 by halftime.
The third quarter proved decisive. Lincoln County surged out of the break, outscoring Moore County to build a 33-23 advantage heading into the final frame. The Lady Falcons continued to control the pace in the fourth, closing out the 16-point win.
Emma Dye led Moore County with 12 points, knocking down three shots from beyond the arc. Ellie Carter followed with seven points, including one 3-pointer. Ally Sharpe added four points, while Emmeree Greenway finished with three. Bella Tucker scored two points, and Harley Hart chipped in one.
Free throws also proved costly for the Raiderettes, who converted just 6 of 15 attempts at the line.
Lincoln County was led by Abby Curtis, who posted a game-high 13 points. Mattie Graham and Grasen Tipps each contributed 10 points in the balanced scoring effort.
On Tuesday, Moore County travels to Culleoka for a 6 p.m. tip.
