Lailar Logan homered for the second consecutive game, drove home four runs, and earned the win in the circle Thursday night as Moore County stayed alive in the District 9A Tournament with a 14-2 elimination-game win over Fayetteville.
Rian Ross and Ellie Carter helped turn it into a rout. Ross drove in four runs on four hits and scored four times, while Carter went 3-for-4 and drove in a team-high five runs.
Moore County struck early. Logan launched a two-run homer to left field in the first inning, giving the Raiderettes a quick lead two nights after homering in Moore County’s win over Cornersville.
The Raiderettes added three more runs in the third. Carter singled down the left-field line, Logan singled to center, and Bailey Dunn doubled to right, with each hit bringing home a run.
Moore County put the game away in the fifth, scoring six runs on four hits. Ross delivered the biggest blow of the inning with a three-run single. Carter followed with a two-run triple, and Logan brought in another run on a groundout.
In the circle, Logan allowed three hits and two runs over five innings. She struck out one and walked one.
Moore County collected 14 hits. Ross had four, Carter had three, and Logan and Anna Deaton each added two.
The Raiderettes also stole four bases and turned one double play.
Fayetteville finished with three hits, one each from McKenzie Pierce, Ashariah Gonzalez, and Taylor Cannon.
Moore County will play again at 5 p.m. Friday at Cornersville.
