Raiders’ hot start fizzles in loss to Franklin Co.

Moore County’s early momentum faded Friday night as Franklin County pulled away for a 57-40 win.
The Raiders came out sharp, taking a 10-6 lead after the first quarter, but struggled to sustain offense against Franklin County’s pressure. The visitors closed the half on a 16-2 run to take a 22-12 advantage at the break, then stretched the margin to 41-28 entering the fourth quarter.

Tristyn Gray tried to breathe life into the Raiders’ comeback, scoring five of his eight points in the fourth quarter and finishing 2-for-4 from the free-throw line.
Anderson Sharpe led Moore County with 11 points, knocking down three 3-pointers. Colton Morey added eight points, while Cooper Dickey finished with seven, including a trey.
Avery Rogers scored four points, and Deacon Liles added two.
Franklin County was paced by Monte Johnson, who posted a game-high 20 points. Brandon Walker followed with 17.
The loss drops the Raiders to 5-15 on the season. Moore County returns to action Saturday evening, traveling to Lincoln County.
